UAE Confirms Ample Supply of Goods, Urges Responsible Consumer Purchasing
The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has affirmed the strength and stability of domestic markets amid ongoing geopolitical developments in the region, stressing that the country’s strategic reserves of essential goods are comprehensive, diversified, and sufficient to meet local demand for extended and reassuring periods.
The Ministry confirmed that all essential food and non-food commodities are available in abundant quantities across retail outlets nationwide. It noted that it is closely and directly monitoring stock levels among suppliers and retailers through its advanced electronic price monitoring system, which continuously collects and analyzes data to ensure uninterrupted supply and prevent potential shortages, thereby safeguarding price stability and consumer needs.
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, said the UAE has successfully built a resilient and flexible economic system capable of navigating regional and global challenges, supported by the country’s forward-looking leadership. He emphasized that food security and the availability of essential goods remain top national priorities.
The Minister added that import flows and the movement of goods into domestic markets are proceeding normally, with no indicators of supply chain disruptions or product shortages. He highlighted the UAE’s proven ability to manage global supply chain challenges efficiently, underpinned by a broad network of international trade partners and proactive diversification strategies aimed at expanding sourcing channels and opening new markets to ensure uninterrupted flows of goods.
He stressed that ensuring the availability of essential commodities - particularly food items - is a red line, with no room for compromise when it comes to economic and food security.
The Ministry called on the public to remain reassured and avoid panic buying or excessive stockpiling, underlining that markets across the country are well supplied and supported by robust strategic reserves and emergency response plans designed to maintain continuity under all circumstances.
Major retail outlets have also confirmed stable supply operations and no unusual changes in sourcing, imports, warehousing, or product availability. The Ministry said it maintains daily direct communication with suppliers, distributors, and retailers to monitor stock levels and ensure 24/7 availability.
The UAE benefits from a diversified and flexible network of global trade partnerships, advanced infrastructure, and integrated maritime, air, and land logistics corridors, positioning it as a key regional hub for storage and distribution. These strengths, combined with policies aimed at diversifying import sources, enhance national food security and reduce exposure to external risks.
In addition, the Ministry reaffirmed that its price control and monitoring framework remains active and effective. In coordination with relevant federal and local authorities, it continues to conduct regular inspection campaigns to prevent unjustified price increases, combat monopolistic practices, and ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and approved pricing policies, thereby maintaining a safe and stable commercial environment for all
