UAE Confirms Market Stability and Adequate Strategic Stockpiles Amid Regional Developments

Amid ongoing geopolitical developments in the region, the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism reaffirmed the resilience and stability of markets across the United Arab Emirates, confirming that the country’s strategic reserves of essential commodities are robust, diversified, and sufficient to meet domestic demand for extended and reassuring periods.

The Ministry emphasized that all essential food and non-food items are available in ample quantities across retail outlets and markets nationwide. It further noted that it closely and continuously monitors inventory levels at suppliers and points of sale through its advanced electronic price monitoring system, which enables real-time data collection, analysis, and periodic assessments to prevent shortages, maintain price stability, and ensure uninterrupted supply.

In this context, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, stated that the UAE has successfully built a resilient and flexible economic system, driven by the proactive and visionary leadership of the country. He affirmed that food security and the availability of essential goods remain top national priorities.

The Minister confirmed that imports and the flow of goods into local markets continue to operate normally, with no indications of supply disruptions or product shortages. He highlighted the UAE’s extensive global trade partnerships and proactive strategies to diversify import sources and open new markets, ensuring uninterrupted supply chains under all circumstances.

The Ministry reiterated its call for the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying or excessive stockpiling, stressing that markets are well supplied and supported by high strategic reserves and ready emergency response plans. It also confirmed the continued enforcement of price monitoring and anti-monopoly measures through regular inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations.
