Egyptian Food Exports Soar to $6.8 Billion in 2025, Marking a Decade of Strong Growth

Egyptian food industry exports reached a record $6.8 billion in 2025, highlighting the sector’s growing role as a key driver of foreign exchange earnings and industrial growth. This represents an increase of $711 million compared to 2024, which recorded $6.1 billion, achieving an annual growth rate of 12%, the highest ever recorded for Egypt’s food exports. The strong global demand, enhanced competitiveness of Egyptian companies, and expansion into new markets have contributed to the continued international presence of Egyptian food products.

The Food Export Council of Egypt noted that the sector’s export growth over the past decade reflects a steady upward trend, with exports rising from $2.7 billion in 2015 to $2.7 billion in 2016, then $2.8 billion in 2017, $3.0 billion in 2018, $3.3 billion in 2019, remaining at $3.3 billion in 2020, before climbing to $4.0 billion in 2021, $4.6 billion in 2022, $5.4 billion in 2023, $6.1 billion in 2024, and ultimately $6.8 billion in 2025.
