Qatar Launches “AI for Qatar” National Program to Accelerate Digital Transformation
Qatar Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Qatar Research Council, has announced the launch of the “AI for Qatar” program, a national initiative aimed at supporting the development of advanced technological solutions that drive digital transformation across key sectors.
The program is built on a co-funding agreement that establishes an integrated framework and a dedicated platform for researchers and startups. This platform enables participants to design and develop transformative artificial intelligence applications capable of creating direct economic and social impact within the country.
The launch of the program comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen Qatar’s national research and innovation ecosystem. It empowers academic institutions, entrepreneurs, and research centers to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to real-world challenges, while focusing on transforming scientific research outputs into scalable, practical applications.
“AI for Qatar” prioritizes several strategic sectors of national importance, including the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare to enhance diagnostics and treatment services, the development of intelligent education models that support personalized learning, and the advancement of digital tourism through data analytics and advanced service personalization.
The program also aims to accelerate innovation aligned with Qatar’s national AI strategy by stimulating public-private partnerships and encouraging startups to develop high-value technology products.
