Vodafone and Nokia Launch Expanded APIs to Boost Secure Digital Innovation
In a strategic move to accelerate digital innovation, Vodafone and Nokia are expanding their collaboration to empower developers with access to 5G-powered APIs for creating smarter, safer applications. The initiative focuses on fraud prevention, identity verification, and delivering secure experiences for users in banking, e-commerce, and government services.
From April 2026, Vodafone’s APIs will be integrated into Nokia’s Network as Code (NaC) platform, enabling developers worldwide to access a suite of connectivity, location, and identity verification services. This expansion provides enterprises and startups alike with tools to build applications that are secure, scalable, and easily adapted across regions.
Johanna Wood, Vodafone’s API Director, said: “Making our network APIs more accessible empowers developers to deliver safer mobile experiences. Through this partnership, we provide the global developer community with resources to enhance digital services and prevent fraud.”
Shkumbin Hamiti, Nokia Networks VP of Revenue Assurance, highlighted: “The NaC platform connects network capabilities across operators, enabling developers to innovate faster and more reliably. Expanding Vodafone’s APIs through our ecosystem supports the creation of secure, seamless digital applications.”
Vodafone’s API offerings include age checks, data validation, and active phone number confirmation, all customizable for enterprise apps. By leveraging 4G and 5G networks, developers can reduce costs associated with localizing apps for multiple markets, while ensuring high security and reliability.
This partnership strengthens the global developer ecosystem, bridging operator networks and application creators, and accelerates adoption of next-generation digital services across sectors.
