eCom Afrika and Egytrans Sign Strategic MoU to Strengthen African Supply Chains and Support SMEs
African e-commerce platform eCom Afrika has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Egytrans Logistics Solutions, a subsidiary of Egytrans Nosco Group, which holds a 99.9% stake in the company. The partnership aims to enhance cross-border supply chains, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and connect Egyptian exporters with African markets through integrated, high-efficiency logistics solutions.
In a disclosure to the Egyptian Exchange, Egytrans stated that the collaboration reflects a shared vision to integrate digital trade platforms with cross-border logistics infrastructure. The partnership is expected to boost Egyptian exports across Africa, leveraging Egytrans’ long-standing presence and extensive operational expertise in African markets.
Under the agreement, the two parties will offer comprehensive door-to-door logistics solutions, including international sea and land transportation, warehousing, packing, and customs clearance services. The alliance also focuses on technological integration between the eCom Afrika digital platform and Egytrans’ smart logistics systems, enabling real-time shipment tracking and enhanced transparency and operational efficiency.
The cooperation further benefits from Egytrans’ in-depth knowledge of customs regulations across targeted African markets, helping streamline operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and empower SMEs with flexible, cost-effective export solutions that enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products within the continent.
Commenting on the partnership, Mohamed Helmy, Executive Chairman of eCom Afrika, said the alliance translates the platform’s strategic vision of building physical and digital bridges between African economies. He emphasized that the partnership represents a genuine Africa-to-Africa collaboration, combining eCom Afrika’s digital capabilities with Egytrans’ logistics legacy to serve SMEs as a key driver of economic growth and competitiveness.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed Abdeen, Managing Director and CEO of eCom Afrika, noted that the partnership is a fundamental step toward building the logistics backbone for intra-African trade. He stressed that cross-border transportation challenges have long hindered trade growth, particularly for SMEs, and that Egytrans’ trusted African network provides a reliable logistics lifeline enabling businesses to compete and deliver high-quality products efficiently.
From Egytrans’ side, Eng. Mohamed Nadim, Managing Director for Commercial Affairs and Operations at Egytrans Nosco Group, said the collaboration comes amid structural shifts in African trade patterns driven by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the rapid growth of digital commerce. He highlighted that integrated logistics models can reduce transit times by 25–30% and lower overall logistics costs by 15–20%, unlocking significant opportunities for intra-African trade.
