flynas Signs Agreement to Launch “flynas Syria” with Operations Set for Q4 2026

flynas, the Middle East’s leading low-cost carrier, has signed an agreement with the Syrian General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport to establish a new joint commercial airline under the name “flynas Syria.” The new carrier is scheduled to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The launch comes as part of growing investment cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Syrian Arab Republic, in coordination with the relevant authorities in both countries.

According to the agreement, the new airline will operate in full compliance with approved aviation regulations and will adhere to the highest international standards of safety and aviation security, following the completion of all required licensing and operational procedures prior to launch.

Ownership of flynas Syria will be split with 51% held by the Syrian General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport and 49% by flynas. The airline is expected to operate flights to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, enhancing air connectivity to and from Syria and supporting growing regional and international travel demand.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize Syria’s civil aviation sector on sound economic and regulatory foundations, while supporting sustainable operations, attracting investment, and contributing to economic recovery through improved air connectivity.
