MNT-Halan Partners with Visa to Expand Digital Card Issuance Across Egypt and Beyond
MNT-Halan, a leading fintech company and the largest non-banking financial services provider in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa, the global leader in digital payments, to issue new Visa-powered cards.
The partnership aims to significantly expand card issuance and distribution, leveraging Visa’s robust payment infrastructure and value-added services to drive greater adoption of everyday digital payments and support MNT-Halan’s regional expansion plans.
During 2025, MNT-Halan issued more than one million Halan cards, processing transactions worth over EGP 40 billion through more than 10 million transactions, underscoring strong market demand and rapid adoption of the card.
The signing ceremony took place at MNT-Halan’s headquarters in Cairo, attended by senior executives from both companies. The agreement was signed by Mounir Nakhla, Founder and CEO of MNT-Halan, and Malak El Baba, Vice President and Country Manager of Visa Egypt.
Halan Card is a prepaid card that also provides customers with instant access to a credit limit, granted swiftly using only the national ID number, following an AI-driven credit assessment conducted by Halan.
Through direct integration with the Halan app, the card offers a comprehensive suite of financial services, including bill payments, e-commerce transactions, flexible installment plans, investment-backed financing, loyalty and rewards programs, cashback management, and more—all accessible through a single digital platform.
