Qudwa-Tech Initiative Hosts Online Advisory Session with National Bank of Egypt to Support Women Entrepreneurs
The Qudwa-Tech Initiative for Women Empowerment hosted an online advisory session titled “How the National Bank of Egypt Supports the Growth of Micro and Handicraft Businesses through Non-Financial Services” on January 27, in collaboration with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
The session aimed to empower female entrepreneurs in handicraft and service sectors, enhancing their capabilities to achieve sustainable growth. It showcased the range of non-financial services provided by NBE to support business owners and demonstrated how these services help transform ideas into viable and sustainable projects.
Key topics included guidance on business registration and licensing procedures, introducing relevant authorities such as the Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprise Development Agency and the General Authority for Investment. The session also discussed ways to facilitate access to financing by raising awareness of financial products and supporting credit file preparation.
Participants learned how to conduct preliminary financial analysis and evaluation of their projects, build networks with suppliers and target markets, connect their businesses to commercial chains and similar institutions, and assess the feasibility of business ideas. The session highlighted support for selecting projects that match entrepreneurs’ skills and experience, as well as guidance in preparing feasibility studies, initial business plans, and identifying funding needs.
The session also spotlighted NBE’s Women Rise package, which empowers women entrepreneurs, particularly in the handicraft and heritage sectors. The program includes intensive training courses, mentorship sessions, specialized consultations, electronic payment and collection solutions, financial inclusion accounts, access to funding, and opportunities to participate in bazaars to enter new markets.
Additionally, the session announced further awareness sessions for Qudwa-Tech beneficiaries and the opportunity to join upcoming training programs covering marketing, financial analysis, business models, and legal business establishment.
This advisory session is part of Qudwa-Tech’s ongoing activities, aimed at strengthening partnerships with banking and economic institutions to equip female entrepreneurs in handicraft and service sectors with practical and knowledge-based tools that foster growth, contribute to the digital economy, and support sustainable development.
