Egypt Post Reports Growth in Pension Disbursements Amid Decline in Internal Money Transfers
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reported that the number of pensions disbursed through postal services increased by 3.78%, reaching 5.23 million beneficiaries in October 2025, compared to 5.03 million in November 2024. This also represents a 0.38% increase compared to September 2025, which recorded 5.21 million beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, domestic instant postal money transfers fell by 14.09%, totaling 437,000 transfers in November 2025, down from 509,000 transfers in November 2024. Month-on-month, transfers declined 3.7% compared to October 2025, which saw 454,000 transactions.
The ministry emphasized that these figures reflect ongoing efforts to modernize postal infrastructure and expand digital and financial services, aiming to enhance financial inclusion and improve service efficiency for citizens across Egypt.
