Egypt’s Fixed-Line Subscribers Rise 4.55% Year-on-Year by November 2025

Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced that the number of fixed-line telephone subscribers increased by 4.55% year-on-year, reaching 13.66 million subscribers by the end of November 2025, compared to 13.06 million subscribers in November 2024.

According to the ministry’s monthly report, the total number of subscribers recorded a monthly decline of 1.91% compared to October 2025, when subscriptions stood at 13.93 million.

The report also showed a 12.33% annual decline in total exchange capacity, which fell to 16.79 million lines by the end of November 2025, down from 19.15 million lines in November 2024. On a monthly basis, capacity decreased by 2.25% compared to October 2025, when it reached 17.35 million lines.

In terms of penetration rate, fixed-line penetration rose 0.33 percentage points year-on-year to reach 12.30% by November 2025, compared to 11.97% in November 2024. However, the rate declined 2.38% month-on-month from 12.60% in October 2025.

The data further revealed a reduction in the number of telephone exchanges, which declined to 1,452 exchanges by the end of November 2025, compared to 1,676 exchanges in November 2024, representing an annual decrease of 13.37%. The number of exchanges remained unchanged compared to the previous month.
