Vodafone Partners with NetIX to Strengthen Wholesale Internet Connectivity to and from Greece

Vodafone announced a new partnership with NetIX aimed at enhancing wholesale internet services to and from Greece, underscoring the company’s commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and supporting the growing demand for high-speed connectivity across the region.

Vodafone explained that the partnership forms part of its ongoing investments in subsea and terrestrial fiber-optic networks, enabling internet service providers, content companies, and telecom operators to achieve higher levels of network interconnection, improved speeds, and greater service reliability.

The expansion includes several strategic projects, most notably the Thetis Express subsea cable, which connects the island of Crete to mainland Greece, as well as the rollout of new fiber routes designed to boost network resilience and reinforce international links. Vodafone is also preparing to introduce direct-to-device satellite services in the next phase of its development strategy.

Through its collaboration with NetIX, Vodafone will benefit from an advanced core network infrastructure offering scalable capacities ranging from 100 to 400 Gbps, supporting future growth in data traffic and evolving connectivity requirements.

Vodafone emphasized that these investments further strengthen Greece’s position as a strategic digital gateway linking Europe with Asia and other regions, while supporting the digital economy, enhancing service continuity, and delivering more seamless and efficient connectivity experiences for millions of users amid the accelerating global digital transformation.
