Gatik Becomes First North American Company to Operate Fully Autonomous Trucks at Commercial Scale

Gatik, the self-driving logistics pioneer, has become the first company in North America to operate fully autonomous trucks at a commercial scale, generating $600 million in contracted revenue. The company now completes daily deliveries for Fortune 50 retailers without a human driver or safety operator behind the wheel.

From Trials to Sustainable Commercial Operations
This milestone marks a new era for autonomous freight, transitioning technology from limited pilots to sustainable, revenue-generating operations that enhance regional supply chains. Since launching freight-only operations in mid-2025, Gatik has successfully completed 60,000 fully autonomous deliveries with zero incidents, operating around the clock on highways and secondary roads.

Gatik Driver: The Heart of Autonomous Operations
At the core of Gatik’s operations is the ™Gatik Driver, a third-generation, scalable, safe, and interpretable autonomous driving system that integrates cutting-edge AI with specialized hardware for high-frequency commercial operations without a human driver.

Gatik’s fully autonomous operations combine unprecedented range, operational scope, and sustainable commercial deployment, having accumulated over 2,000 driverless hours across multiple logistics networks and completed over 10,000 driverless miles on public roads. Routes span up to 400 miles, connecting dense networks of distribution centers, warehouses, and retail stores, demonstrating Gatik’s leadership in reliable, cost-efficient autonomous shipping.

Executive Perspective: Autonomous Freight as a Real Business Model
Gautam Narang, CEO and Co-Founder of Gatik, stated:
"Autonomous freight is no longer a promise—it’s a business. With over $600 million in contracted revenue, Gatik proves that self-driving shipping is not only possible but commercially viable. The strong demand for our solutions shows how quickly this new model will reshape logistics. Today, we operate fully autonomous trucks across multiple networks and markets, serving the largest retailers and CPG companies in the U.S. This operational consistency marks a turning point in autonomous logistics."

Gatik trucks, ranging from 26 to 30 feet, operate nearly 24/7 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (Texas), the Phoenix metro (Arizona), and Northwest Arkansas, transporting dry, refrigerated, and frozen goods between distribution centers and stores. The company plans to expand autonomous operations into new U.S. markets, helping retailers meet rising demand while addressing driver shortages and delivery costs through scalable, safe automation.

Safety and Regulatory Oversight
Gatik launched operations only after independent safety reviews of critical components under its Safety Assessment Framework, coordinated with U.S. regulatory bodies including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The company also conducted training for first responders and local stakeholders to ensure community readiness.

Strategic Partnership with Isuzu Motors
Gatik integrates its Level 4 autonomous system with Isuzu Motors’ medium-duty trucks, supporting current operations while preparing for a mass production program of self-driving trucks. Hiroshi Sato, EVP of Engineering at Isuzu Motors, noted:
"This is a critical step in bringing autonomous driving technology to commercial logistics operations. Isuzu provides reliable vehicle platforms to support this advancement while preparing for future autonomous-ready fleets."
