Gulfood 2026: A Strategic Gateway for Egyptian Food Products to GCC Markets

Egyptian food exporters are leveraging Gulfood 2026 as a key platform to expand into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets, according to industry experts.

Engineer Mahmoud Walid, Head of Food Department at a participating Egyptian food company, highlighted that Gulfood is one of the most prominent regional and international food trade shows. The event attracts exhibitors from the Middle East, the European Union, and beyond, targeting the GCC as a competitive and lucrative market.

“Egyptian products consistently account for a significant portion of the annual participation. Companies aim to access new markets and acquire clients through this international platform,” said Walid. However, he noted that some shipments face delays or rejections at borders despite offering high-quality products at competitive prices, mainly due to missing compliance or market-entry documentation.

Walid emphasized that addressing regulatory requirements early—before production and shipment—is critical to avoiding delays, reducing operational costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. He also highlighted the role of GulTech, an Emirati company established in Dubai in 2014, which supports exporters with conformity assessments and Halal certifications, covering all GCC countries.
