OpenAI in Advanced Talks for Over $50 Billion Funding Round at Valuation Up to $830 Billion

OpenAI is holding advanced discussions to raise more than $50 billion in new funding, in a potential deal that could lift the company’s valuation to between $750 billion and $830 billion, marking one of the largest private funding rounds in the history of the global technology sector.

The prospective valuation represents a significant increase compared to the company’s estimated $500 billion valuation in autumn 2025, when select employees were allowed to sell shares through a private transaction, reflecting sustained investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence technologies.

Despite its rapid growth, OpenAI remains unprofitable, continuing to invest heavily in the development and operation of advanced AI models. The company is spending billions of dollars on specialized chips, large-scale data centers, and top-tier technical talent, underscoring the massive capital requirements needed to support global AI deployment.

Middle East and Strategic Investors

As part of its fundraising efforts, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has held meetings with major investors in the Middle East, amid growing interest from sovereign wealth funds and regional investment firms seeking greater exposure to artificial intelligence.

While discussions are ongoing, sources indicate that the final funding size and valuation could still change as negotiations continue.

In parallel, OpenAI has entered talks with Amazon regarding a potential additional investment of at least $10 billion, as the company seeks to broaden its investor base and secure long-term financial resources to support its aggressive expansion strategy.

Intensifying Global AI Race

The move comes as competition in the global AI sector accelerates sharply, with capital requirements rising at unprecedented levels. Industry estimates suggest that other leading AI firms are also pursuing massive fundraising rounds, including Anthropic, which is reportedly exploring new financing at a valuation approaching $350 billion.

OpenAI has previously received investments from Abu Dhabi-backed MGX, and has partnered with G42 to develop a large-scale data center in the United Arab Emirates, reinforcing its global infrastructure footprint.

As major technology companies intensify their investments in artificial intelligence, OpenAI continues to hold a leading position in the market, with ChatGPT remaining among the most widely used AI applications worldwide.

The potential funding round highlights the scale of transformation underway in the AI industry, where access to vast capital has become a decisive factor in innovation, infrastructure expansion, and the global race for technological leadership.
