IEGCO Launches Egypt’s First Locally Manufactured Variable Data Printing Machines at Grain Tech Egypt
Integrated Engineering Group “IEGCO” has unveiled four locally manufactured machine models for the first time in Egypt during its participation in Grain Tech Egypt Exhibition, introducing the country’s first national products dedicated to variable data printing on goods, particularly production and expiry dates.
The move represents a major step toward deepening local manufacturing and reducing dependence on imported equipment, especially within the food and consumer goods sectors.
Eng. Khaled Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of IEGCO, stated that the company’s participation this year focuses on showcasing four newly localized models that provide advanced solutions for variable data printing across multiple industries.
He explained that the exhibited machines include HR (High Resolution), TIJ1800-Mini Plus, TIJ1800-A200 Single & Double Head, and DP2000 Large Characters, noting that these models are designed to meet the technical requirements of both local and export markets.
Ibrahim added that IEGCO’s participation in Grain Tech Egypt resulted in the signing of export contracts with companies in Libya, Iraq, the UAE, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the growing competitiveness of Egyptian-made industrial machinery.
Meanwhile, Eng. Hamdy Abdel Fattah, General Manager of IEGCO, said the company’s localization strategy aims to meet domestic market demand and reduce Egypt’s import bill, which is estimated at EGP 2.5 billion annually for machines, inks, and spare parts related to date coding and marking systems.
He noted that exports currently account for around 10% of the company’s total sales, with plans to increase this share to 30% within two years, supported by expansion plans across African markets.
According to Abdel Fattah, African markets import nearly USD 3 billion annually worth of production and expiry date printing machines, creating significant export opportunities for Egyptian manufacturers.
The 25th edition of Grain Tech Egypt, inaugurated by Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, was held from January 19 to 21, bringing together 93 local and international exhibitors from 125 countries, reinforcing the exhibition’s status as a key regional platform for grain and food technology.
