NBK Strengthens Financial Awareness Through Innovative Community Initiatives in 2025

As part of its firm commitment to promoting banking literacy and financial awareness, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) continued throughout 2025 to roll out a wide range of innovative initiatives and awareness programs targeting various segments of society. These efforts aim to reinforce financial and digital security concepts, combat fraud, and enhance individuals’ understanding of banking services.

Educational Workshops in Collaboration with “Li Wa Lakom”

Under its flagship campaign “Let’s Be Aware”, NBK launched a series of educational workshops in partnership with the Li Wa Lakom initiative. The sessions focused on financial literacy fundamentals, personal budget management, and the importance of using official banking channels to avoid fraud. The workshops witnessed strong engagement and contributed significantly to raising participants’ financial awareness.

NBK also organized awareness sessions for employees of major corporations, particularly in the oil sector such as KNPC and KIPIC, in addition to a specialized course for employees of the Ministry of Interior. These sessions addressed cybersecurity, digital forensics, and modern techniques for combating money laundering and terrorism financing, strengthening cooperation between the banking sector and government entities to safeguard Kuwait’s economy.

The bank further delivered an awareness lecture at the headquarters of the Petrochemical Industries Company, underscoring its commitment to expanding banking awareness and reinforcing collaboration with the oil sector to counter fraud and cybercrime.

NBK emphasized that the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign goes beyond fraud prevention, encompassing key topics such as optimal use of banking products and services, as well as promoting saving and investment culture across society.

Innovative Digital Awareness Campaign

NBK also launched a series of short educational videos across its digital platforms, covering topics such as password strength, two-factor authentication, and the importance of verifying links before sharing personal data. Targeting youth in particular, the campaign achieved high engagement and viewership, effectively raising awareness of electronic fraud prevention.

School Outreach to Build Financial Awareness Among Youth

Extending its efforts to younger generations, NBK organized workshops in several public and private schools to introduce students to digital safety basics and the importance of financial management from an early age. These interactive sessions featured real-life examples and practical discussions, empowering students to remain vigilant and proactive in protecting their personal data on social media platforms.
