“Hayah” Is More Than a Bank Account.. How ADCB Egypt Opens a New Gateway to Women’s Empowerment

In a move that reflects a deeper shift in the concept of financial inclusion, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank Egypt (ADCB Egypt) has launched its “Hayah” banking package for women, redefining the traditional idea of a bank account by offering a comprehensive bundle of financial and non-financial benefits designed to support and empower Egyptian women at different stages of their lives.

Barrier-Free Financial Empowerment

The “Hayah” package is part of ADCB Egypt’s financial inclusion initiatives, enabling women to open a free savings account with no minimum balance and no monthly fees. The account offers an annual interest rate of up to 9.50%, paid annually, aiming to encourage savings and strengthen financial independence.

In addition, the package includes a free debit card and complimentary access to digital banking services, including internet banking, the mobile banking app, and the “Waqti” e-wallet, ensuring round-the-clock access to modern banking solutions.

Open Access to Financing and Banking Services

“Hayah” also qualifies customers for various unsecured banking facilities, such as credit cards and loans, subject to approved terms and conditions. Customers can open sub-accounts in foreign currencies and benefit from flexible transaction limits, including daily cash withdrawals of up to EGP 90,000, monthly withdrawals of up to EGP 300,000, and a maximum account balance of EGP 500,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies.

Health and Insurance Coverage Beyond Banking

What sets the “Hayah” package apart is its extension beyond traditional banking services into healthcare and insurance benefits. Subscribers receive a medical services card offering discounts of up to 70% at a wide network of hospitals, radiology centers, and medical laboratories.

The package also includes cancer treatment insurance coverage of up to EGP 40,000, in addition to accident coverage worth EGP 50,000 in cases of death or permanent disability, and emergency medical coverage following accidents of up to EGP 3,000.

Complimentary Benefits in the First Year

ADCB Egypt confirmed that all non-banking benefits are offered free of charge during the first year of subscription, with a 50% discount on renewal fees for the second year, in accordance with applicable terms and conditions.

The “Hayah” package is available to all Egyptian women aged 21 and above, delivering a clear message that financial empowerment is no longer a privilege, but a fundamental right that banking institutions are actively working to advance.
