As part of the celebrations marking Egypt Post Day, Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, toured the pavilions of the 2026 Annual Pioneers Exhibition for Stamp Collectors, organized by the Egyptian Pioneers Club for Philatelists at the El Hanager Arts Center within the Cairo Opera House complex. The exhibition drew broad participation from collectors and exhibitors from across Egypt and several Arab countries.

The minister was accompanied during the tour by Sayed Toman, Vice Chairman of the National Postal Authority for Regional Affairs, Eng. Nael Hamdy, Chairman of the Egyptian Pioneers Club for Stamp Collectors, members of the club, and representatives of Arab philatelic associations.

During his visit, the minister reviewed rare stamp collections and competitive entries submitted for the official exhibition contests, commending the high standard of the exhibits and highlighting the role of philatelic hobbies in documenting history and preserving cultural heritage.

Minister Talaat emphasized that the stamps on display carry significant historical value, serving as a visual record of Egypt’s history and reflecting the richness of the country’s cultural movement, as well as its economic and social dimensions over the past 160 years.

He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to continuing efforts to modernize Egypt Post and upgrade its services in line with the latest technological developments, ensuring the delivery of postal and financial services in a contemporary and well-governed manner, while preserving the historical legacy of Egypt’s postal system.

The minister added that the current year will witness the introduction of additional postal and financial services, alongside expanded delivery of government services through the Digital Egypt platform via Egypt Post branches nationwide.

He also highlighted the pivotal role played by Egypt Post in implementing several national projects, including the Unified Services Card project, which has entered a pilot phase in Port Said Governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply, as well as the Alternative Housing Platform in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing. He noted that such initiatives require a strong nationwide presence.

Minister Talaat stressed that Egypt Post remains one of the country’s most widespread public institutions, operating more than 4,600 postal outlets across all governorates, reinforcing its capacity to deliver government and financial services to citizens.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the minister officially launched a commemorative postage stamp marking the 160th anniversary of the issuance of Egypt’s first postage stamp, underscoring the enduring legacy of the Egyptian postal service.
