Federation of Egyptian Banks Organizes Introductory Workshop on the New Labor Law in Coordination with the Ministry of Labor

As part of its commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at developing the work environment and ensuring the effective implementation of the provisions of the new Labor Law within the banking sector, the Federation of Egyptian Banks organized a comprehensive introductory workshop on the new Labor Law. The workshop was held on December 17, 2025, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor, and under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt.

The workshop was organized by the Human Resources Committee of the Federation and was attended by Ms. Rasha Mansour, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for the Human Resources Sector, and Mr. Hany El-Sammara, Chairman of the Human Resources Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Banks. The event also witnessed the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Labor, including Mr. Khaled Abdullah Abdel Qader, Advisor to the Minister of Labor for Safety Affairs, Mr. El-Sayed El-Sharkawy, Director General of the Inspection Department, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Sattar Montasser, Head of the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health.

Approximately 80 representatives from the Egyptian banking sector attended the workshop, including officials responsible for the implementation and application of the provisions of the new Labor Law within banks. This broad participation reflects the Federation’s keenness to unify perspectives and facilitate the exchange of expertise among relevant stakeholders.

Discussions during the workshop succeeded in addressing and clarifying a number of key issues that had previously been subject to differing interpretations and applications. Through detailed presentations and in-depth explanations of the legal and regulatory dimensions of the new law, the workshop contributed to unifying concepts related to implementation mechanisms, enhancing clarity, and supporting the sound and consistent application of the Labor Law across the Egyptian banking sector.

The Federation of Egyptian Banks reaffirmed its continued commitment to strengthening human resources capabilities within banks and enhancing institutional cooperation with relevant government entities, in line with legislative developments. These efforts aim to support workplace stability and promote the adoption of best practices across the banking sector.
