EiTESAL Leads Winning Alexandria Alliance to Shape the Future of Smart and Sustainable Transport in Egypt

Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour, the New Administrative Capital hosted the official announcement of the winning alliances under the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development.” Only nine alliances were selected nationwide from a total of 104 applicants.

Among the winners was the “Alexandria Smart and Sustainable Transport Alliance,” led by EiTESAL (Egyptian Information Technology Industry Association), making it the sole alliance representing the Alexandria region. The selection reflects strong confidence in EiTESAL’s proven track record and long-standing expertise in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across technology-driven sectors, particularly smart and sustainable mobility.

The alliance brings together an integrated ecosystem that combines government stakeholders, the private sector, and venture capital, through a strategic partnership that includes Alexandria University as the academic representative, alongside a group of leading companies specializing in entrepreneurship, training and capacity building, research and development, and industrial operations. Alliance partners include Sprints, CourseVox, Brightskies, EVRaid, and Geyushi Automotive.

During the ceremony, Eng. Assem Wahby, Vice Chairman of EiTESAL, signed the agreement on behalf of the association, in the presence of key officials and alliance members, underscoring the collective commitment to the success of this national project and the achievement of its strategic objectives.

The Alexandria Smart and Sustainable Transport Alliance aims to localize electric vehicle technologies in Egypt, establish an integrated innovation ecosystem for smart mobility, empower entrepreneurs, and train and upskill engineers and specialists in line with the evolving needs of local, regional, and global labor markets. The initiative is expected to open new industrial pathways for young talent in the coming years while enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.

The “Alliance and Development” initiative is considered the largest of its kind in applied scientific research in Egypt. It seeks to bridge scientific research with industry, education, and entrepreneurship, while accelerating the transformation of innovation into practical applications with tangible economic and social impact, in support of Egypt Vision 2030 and the transition toward a green economy and clean technologies.

The Alexandria alliance’s win stands as a culmination of coordinated efforts between academic, industrial, and community institutions, driven by a unified vision to build a sustainable future for smart transport and to accelerate Egypt’s national transition toward low-emission, technology-driven mobility solutions.
