Jumia Egypt hosts a delegation from the Chinese Chamber of International Trade for Light Industry Products and Handicrafts (CCCLA) to explore opportunities for cooperation in e-commerce

Egypt welcomed a high-level delegation from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Import and Export of Light Industries and Handicrafts Products (CCCLA) on Tuesday, December 2, as part of the Chamber's commercial and investment visit to Cairo.

As Africa's leading e-commerce platform, the Jumia Group plays a pivotal role in connecting markets across the continent and enabling millions of consumers to access high-quality products. The visit — coordinated by Jumia's office in Shenzhen, China — reinforces the group's mission of closing supply gaps and meeting growing demand in Egypt and other African countries in which Jumia operates. By strengthening relationships with global partners such as the China Chamber of China (CCCLA), Jumia continues to improve product availability, make them more competitive, and enhance Africa's cross-border trade capabilities.

The delegation was led by Mr. Zhang Ji, Vice President of the Chamber, and included representatives of 20 leading Chinese companies seeking to understand market opportunities in Egypt and explore cooperation with Jumia. The visit included a field tour of the Al-Wafa Center of Jumia, followed by a meeting with the CEO of Jumia Egypt, Mr. Abdellatif Alma, and members of the leadership teams and the commercial sector.

Commenting on the visit, Mr. Chang Ji said:

“Egypt and Africa have strong potential in the field of cross-border e-commerce, and Jumia's leadership in the region is a factor that makes it an ideal partner for Chinese companies looking to expand on the continent.”

Mr. Abdellatif Elma, CEO of Jumia Egypt, added:

“We are pleased to welcome our Chinese partners, explore the paths of trade cooperation and knowledge sharing that support consumers and enhance economic relations between Egypt and China.”

Jumia Egypt looks forward to continued discussions with the Chamber of China (CCCLA) to develop long-term opportunities that enhance the growth of cross-border e-commerce in the region.
