Non-Government Local Currency Deposits Rise to EGP 9.264 Trillion by End of October

Non-government deposits in local currency across the Egyptian banking sector climbed to EGP 9.264 trillion by the end of October, up from EGP 9.157 trillion recorded at the end of September, according to the latest data released by the Central Bank of Egypt.

The data shows that demand deposits in local currency increased to EGP 2.250 trillion, compared to EGP 2.219 trillion in September 2025.
Public business sector entities accounted for EGP 101.729 billion of these deposits, while the private business sector held EGP 1.193 trillion, and the household sector recorded EGP 954.994 billion.

Meanwhile, time deposits and savings certificates in local currency rose to EGP 7.014 trillion, up from EGP 6.938 trillion in September.
Of this total, the public business sector held EGP 64.013 billion, the private business sector held EGP 371.116 billion, and the household sector dominated with EGP 6.579 trillion.

The month-on-month increase reflects continued growth in liquidity held by households and private sector entities within the local banking system.
