Damen Partners with Baheya Foundation to Support Breast Cancer Fighters
In alignment with its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and its support for humanitarian and health-focused initiatives, Damen for Electronic Payments has announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer. The partnership aims to provide financial support that enhances Baheya’s services and helps the foundation continue offering free treatment for women across Egypt.
The protocol was signed at Baheya’s new Sheikh Zayed Hospital in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Khalaf, Deputy CEO and Head of Business Development at Damen, Eng. Magid Hamdy, Board Member at Baheya, along with senior representatives from both organizations.
This collaboration comes as part of Damen’s wider efforts to support national initiatives that improve citizens’ quality of life, particularly in the areas of health and women’s empowerment.
During the visit, Baheya organized a tour to introduce Damen’s team to the hospital’s departments and the medical, psychological, and social support services provided to breast cancer fighters.
As part of the partnership, Baheya also held an awareness seminar at Damen’s headquarters for the company’s female employees. The session included a comprehensive lecture on the importance of early detection, prevention methods, treatment options, and practical guidance on proper nutrition.
The event was held in a positive and engaging atmosphere, reflecting Damen’s commitment to providing a safe space for dialogue and awareness. The initiative aimed to raise health awareness among women and encourage them to prioritize their well-being.
Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Ahmed Khalaf, Deputy CEO of Damen, said:
«We are proud today to partner with an inspiring humanitarian institution like Baheya. Damen’s support for this initiative stems from our belief in the vital role of the private sector in serving the community and encouraging organizations to contribute to initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives.»
He added:
«Through this collaboration, we are also enabling every citizen to contribute to Baheya’s mission through Damen’s electronic payment channels, making giving easier and more accessible.»
Eng. Magid Hamdy, Board Member at Baheya Foundation, expressed appreciation for the partnership, saying:
«We truly value Damen’s support and trust in Baheya’s mission. This collaboration provides strong momentum for our continued efforts to deliver free, high-quality services to every woman in need.»
He added:
«We firmly believe that cooperation between civil society organizations and the private sector is key to creating a real and sustainable positive impact in the lives of Egyptian women.»
This collaboration marks another significant step in Damen’s commitment to fulfilling its social responsibility—not only through financial contributions but also through awareness initiatives and community engagement. The company continues to support programs that foster human development and aid vulnerable groups, believing that true success begins with serving people and society.
