Fawry Establishes New Financial Investments Holding Company with Paid-in Capital of EGP 50 Million
Fawry, Egypt’s leading digital payments and financial technology company, has announced the establishment of Fawry Holding for Financial Investments, a new holding entity created to support the company’s growing investment activities and long term expansion strategy.
In a disclosure to the Egyptian Exchange today, Fawry confirmed that the newly formed company has been established with an authorized capital of EGP 50 million and a paid-in capital of EGP 5 million. Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments holds a 99.99 percent stake in the new entity.
The company added that the founding and licensing committee operating under the supervision of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has officially approved the establishment of Fawry Holding for Financial Investments.
According to Fawry, the creation of the holding company comes in response to increasing investment expansion, new emerging opportunities, and the need to restructure existing subsidiaries within a unified institutional framework. The move aims to build a more coherent economic structure capable of managing diversification, directing investments toward defined strategic objectives, and efficiently overseeing subsidiaries with varied or complementary activities under one legal umbrella.
Fawry stated that the establishment of a holding company marks a strategic milestone that will not only support the creation of new specialized subsidiaries, but also streamline investment management, enable participation in new ventures, and facilitate acquisitions of existing companies. The new structure will also allow the group to obtain additional licenses for various activities and generate added value through integration across multiple sectors, strengthening the company’s position as a key market player.
The company emphasized that this step reinforces principles of sound governance and provides a solid foundation for measured and sustainable expansion across local and regional markets.
