Talabat Egypt Celebrates Its Annual «Hero Month» Initiative to Advance Social Responsibility
As part of its annual «Hero Month» initiative, launched every October, Talabat, the leading food delivery and q-commerce platform in the Middle East and North Africa, organized a wide range of volunteer-driven activities in partnership with several prominent non-governmental organizations. The initiative aims to promote a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among employees while supporting humanitarian, health, and environmental causes across Egypt and the region. This reflects Talabat’s firm belief that social responsibility is an integral part of its corporate identity and that translating human values into tangible actions on the ground is a core pillar of its mission.
Through «Hero Month», Talabat reaffirmed its ability to drive positive change via collective action, with its employees serving as the driving force behind its volunteer efforts. This spirit extended to Talabat users as well, who contributed more than 330,000 meals across eight markets. The company also collected over 1.4 million euros in donations, 15% of which came from Egypt alone through in-app contributions, reinforcing the platform’s social impact and showcasing the success of its collaborative approach in turning collective effort into meaningful financial and humanitarian support.

In Egypt, this year’s «Hero Month» placed strong focus on addressing urgent humanitarian and health needs. Talabat employees took part in an intensive volunteer day in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank, during which more than 3,000 food boxes were prepared to support those affected in Gaza and senior citizens across Egypt. The initiative underscored Talabat’s rapid response to humanitarian emergencies and its commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening community solidarity.
Talabat also expanded its support for health-related causes by organizing an impactful visit to Baheya Foundation to support breast cancer patients and provide psychological encouragement to patients and medical staff, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Additionally, the company sponsored «The Heart Run» marathon in support of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, further contributing to medical initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact in people’s lives.
In pursuit of sustainable community impact, Talabat collaborated with the «Shagarha» initiative to plant a sustainable rooftop garden at Dar Al-Quds Home, which provides care and shelter to orphaned children with special needs. The initiative helped raise awareness about environmental sustainability while transforming unused spaces into green areas that bring joy and hope to children, combining environmental action with a strong humanitarian dimension. These activities underline Talabat’s dedication to fostering team spirit and social responsibility among employees, reinforcing the company’s ongoing support for NGOs that create long-term, tangible change.
Commenting on the initiative, Hadir Shalaby, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of Talabat Egypt, said: «Hero Month reflects Talabat’s philosophy of making social impact a fundamental part of our culture, not an occasional activity. Volunteer work for us is not merely an annual event – it is an extension of our mission to empower the communities we serve and support initiatives that inspire hope and drive real change. We believe that every small contribution can make a major difference, and that a company’s success is measured not only by commercial achievements but by its ability to leave a positive and lasting impact on society».
She added: «We continuously encourage our employees to take part in every volunteer initiative because they are at the heart of this change. Our vision is to empower every individual to contribute to improving the lives of others and to turn humanitarian ideals into concrete actions. Our ongoing goal is to nurture a culture of giving and collaboration that reflects the essence of our values».
Through its diverse activities, Talabat continues to demonstrate its deep commitment to social responsibility and its focus on environmental, health, educational, and humanitarian causes, while empowering its employees to play an active role in driving positive change within their communities. These efforts highlight Talabat’s leadership in supporting sustainable development goals and promoting a culture of volunteerism and teamwork, positioning the company as a model for businesses that successfully balance commercial growth with meaningful social impact.
