Egypt Participates in Mediterranean Forum on Artificial Intelligence

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is participating in the second Mediterranean Forum on Artificial Intelligence (FMIA), on November 20–21 at the City of Culture in Tunis, Tunisia.

The event is organized by the Tunisian Deposit and Consignment Fund (CDC), the French Interministerial Delegation for the Mediterranean (DIMED), the French Institute of Tunisia, and the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), under the patronage of the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Under the main theme: “What solutions can AI offer to the major challenges facing the Mediterranean?,” the forum aims to structure the AI ecosystem in the Mediterranean and foster a true regional AI community. It brings together more than 600 stakeholders from across the Middle East, including high-level officials, investors, researchers, policymakers, and representatives of AI companies, startups, incubators, development banks, and international organizations.

FMIA features panel discussions and interactive workshops exploring the latest AI advancements and applications across multiple sectors, while addressing ethical considerations. Its agenda covers topics such as health, climate change, risk management, water, energy, agriculture, sustainable food systems, education, cultural challenges, international governance, AI ethics, AI financing in the Eastern Mediterranean, and open-source technologies and open data.

MCIT is participating in a panel discussion that explores how AI can be grounded in Mediterranean realities, shaped by diverse perspectives, and developed responsibly to address the region’s key challenges.
