Dalia Ibrahim Wins CIB Business Excellence Award for Leadership in Publishing and Education
Dalia Ibrahim, Chairperson of Nahdet Misr Publishing House, has been honored with the CIB Egypt Business Excellence Award in the Publishing and Educational Development category. The award is presented by the Commercial International Bank (CIB) in partnership with the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED), recognizing outstanding leadership in Egypt’s non-banking sectors and highlighting the vital role of women in corporate leadership.
The accolade comes as part of a joint initiative launched by CIB and MEED to celebrate institutional excellence across Egyptian companies. The awards follow international, impartial evaluation standards designed to ensure transparency and credibility. CIB’s sponsorship underscores the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting growth across key industries and technological sectors, in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its sustainable development objectives.
Ibrahim’s recognition reflects her far-reaching strategic vision in advancing education, publishing, and knowledge development across the Arab world. It also highlights her influential role in empowering women and supporting young entrepreneurs in the edtech sector.
Commenting on the award, Ibrahim said:
“This recognition reaffirms the transformational power of investing in education as a driver of development in Egypt and the region. At Nahdet Misr, we are committed to building an integrated educational ecosystem that supports lifelong learning and bridges knowledge with innovation. What we have achieved is the result of collective effort and a firm belief that education is the true engine of empowerment for individuals and communities. We are honored to be acknowledged by two leading institutions such as CIB and MEED.”
Under Ibrahim’s leadership, Nahdet Misr – which has more than 85 years of publishing expertise – has evolved into a comprehensive educational and cultural institution that drives innovation and knowledge development in Egypt and the Arab region. The group has moved far beyond its traditional role as a publishing house to become a diversified powerhouse offering curriculum development, advanced digital and technological learning solutions, professional training programs for teachers, and early childhood educational services.
Ibrahim also pioneered the establishment of the first educational technology-focused venture capital firm in the Middle East, supporting and investing in edtech startups. She later launched a dedicated company for technical and vocational training aimed at enhancing the skills of Egyptian workers and aligning them with the needs of local and global labor markets.
Nahdet Misr’s impact has expanded across the region through major educational and cultural projects in Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Djibouti, Gambia, Malawi, and several other African and Arab countries. These initiatives have strengthened the group’s regional presence and advanced its mission to deliver world-class educational solutions.
MEED, the Middle East’s leading business intelligence platform for over 65 years, is a trusted source of economic analysis and project data across the region. Its reports are used extensively by banks, government agencies, and major contractors. MEED’s participation in the awards brings a rigorous and independent evaluation methodology, reinforcing the credibility of the program. The organization also manages several prestigious regional award platforms, including the Banking Excellence Awards and the MEED Projects Awards.
Through their collaboration, CIB and MEED are highlighting and celebrating influential leaders whose work drives meaningful economic and social impact—among them, Dalia Ibrahim, whose contributions continue to reshape the future of education and knowledge in the region.
