Knowledge Summit Marks Its 10th Edition Tomorrow at Dubai World Trade Centre
The tenth edition of the Knowledge Summit will officially commence tomorrow, Wednesday, 19 November 2025, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the two-day event will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities.”
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone in the Summit’s decade-long journey, which has solidified its reputation as a premier global platform bringing together decision-makers, industry leaders, experts, and intellectuals from across key sectors. The event aims to strengthen the global knowledge ecosystem and equip communities with sustainable development tools.
Aligned with the UAE’s designation of 2025 as the “Year of Community,” the Summit offers an inclusive platform for international dialogue centered on placing knowledge at the core of community development. Through diverse sessions and impactful discussions, the event underlines the importance of investing in knowledge and ideas as the foundation for building thriving and resilient societies. It also highlights the growing role of “knowledge markets” in reshaping how knowledge is produced, consumed, and shared, while broadening channels for global knowledge exchange to drive meaningful social, economic, and developmental outcomes.
The Summit will welcome broad participation, featuring more than 130 speakers, including government leaders, business executives, and international experts. Over the course of the event, more than 58 dialogue sessions and high-level meetings will explore knowledge policies, practical implementation mechanisms, and frameworks for translating concepts into successful projects and initiatives. The program will also showcase global best practices and transformative models in sustainable development.
A central feature of the Summit is the launch of the 2025 edition of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI), following methodological updates and enhancements to its analytical tools. The new edition introduces additional sub-indices and revised statistical weights to improve comparability among countries and ensure more precise and objective measurement of knowledge readiness.
The agenda also includes a diverse lineup of sessions addressing critical global knowledge themes. These topics encompass knowledge markets, the knowledge economy, knowledge governance, innovation, sustainability, community development, technology, artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, education, scientific research, development and innovation, legislation, social transformation, intellectual property, patents, and environmental challenges. The range of themes reflects the rapid transformations shaping the global knowledge landscape.
