Huawei Hosts Go to MEA and HMS for Car Forums to Advance Smart Mobility

Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) successfully concluded its Go to MEA and HMS for Car forums at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah, marking a major step in advancing connected and intelligent mobility across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al Qasimi, who delivered an inspiring opening address highlighting the emirate’s growing role as a hub for innovation and investment.

The forums brought together government officials, investors, automotive industry leaders, and ecosystem partners to explore new opportunities in smart mobility, localization, and digital transformation. Remarks by the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Tourism Development Authority (RAKDTA) and representatives from the embassy business office emphasized Ras Al Khaimah’s appeal as an emerging destination for high-tech industries and cross-border partnerships.

Huawei executives outlined the company’s strategic vision for the automotive sector, showcasing HMS for Car, a comprehensive platform enabling automakers and developers to build next-generation connected vehicles. The sessions demonstrated how Huawei’s technologies enhance user engagement, accelerate in-car innovation, and create new monetization models within a secure and compliant digital ecosystem.

The agenda featured global case studies illustrating real-world HMS for Car deployments, best practices in UX design and lifecycle management, and a Petal Maps session focused on localized navigation and regional data solutions for GCC markets. Huawei also unveiled Al Lahja, an Arabic AI collaboration aimed at improving natural voice interaction across dialects, and presented its Avatr cloud case study, showing how cloud-native architectures support real-time analytics and software-defined vehicle capabilities.

A highlight of the event was the introduction of Huawei’s Car Key and Owner App, enabling secure digital key functions and seamless vehicle control via Huawei wearables and smartphones. The program concluded with a panel discussion on data governance, localization, and future standards for intelligent mobility across the MEA region.

> “The dialogue and outcomes from the HMS for Car Forum reaffirm the power of ecosystem collaboration,” said William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Middle East and Africa Eco-Development and Operation. “By aligning localized mapping, Arabic AI, cloud-native vehicle services, and privacy-first advertising, we are enabling our partners to deliver safer, smarter, and more engaging in-car experiences for drivers and passengers.
