Three Ways to Recover Money Sent by Mistake via Vodafone Cash – Here’s How to Get Your Funds Back

With the increasing reliance on digital wallets and mobile financial services, many Vodafone Cash users in Egypt are seeking solutions to recover money mistakenly sent to the wrong number. Despite being one of the country’s most widely used e-payment platforms, Vodafone Cash users sometimes face issues when funds are transferred in error.

Here are three verified methods to recover money sent by mistake through Vodafone Cash:

1. Contact Vodafone Customer Service

Call 7001 from any Vodafone number.

Provide full details of the transaction, including the recipient number, amount transferred, and time of transfer.

2. Determine the Recipient’s Wallet Status

If the recipient has an active Vodafone Cash wallet:

Vodafone will contact the recipient to request a refund. If the person agrees, the money is returned immediately. However, if the recipient refuses, Vodafone cannot force the refund.

If the recipient does not have a Vodafone Cash wallet:

The funds are automatically refunded within up to seven days, provided that the recipient does not open a new wallet during that period.

3. Legal Action if the Recipient Refuses to Return the Funds

If the recipient declines to refund the money, you can file a report with the Cybercrime Investigation Department detailing the transaction, along with a receipt or screenshot showing proof of transfer. Legal action can then be taken under Egypt’s Civil Law based on the principle of “unjust enrichment”, allowing you to reclaim your funds.

Tip: Always verify the recipient’s number carefully before confirming a Vodafone Cash transaction to avoid such issues.
