Hatem Dowidar Highlights UAE’s Growing Role in Global Tech Landscape at GITEX GLOBAL Week
Hatem Dowidar, Group CEO of e& (formerly Etisalat Group), shared insights on the evolving global technology ecosystem as he kicked off GITEX GLOBAL – the world’s largest tech and startup show at Expand North Star in Dubai.

In a discussion with renowned tech expert David Rowan, Dowidar noted that the “center of gravity” in global technology is shifting once again, driven by exponential innovations, geopolitical changes, and the growing influence of sovereign capital.
He emphasized that the UAE’s world-class digital infrastructure and connectivity are key catalysts for building and scaling digital businesses capable of expanding globally.

He noted that companies must make timely decisions on whether to build, partner, or acquire to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape — creating strong opportunities for startups to accelerate their growth.
