e& Egypt Launches “Healthy Schools” Initiative to Support Students of Special Education Schools
e& Egypt has announced the launch of a new nationwide initiative, “Healthy Schools,” aimed at promoting a safe and healthy educational environment for students of special education schools. The initiative, implemented in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Ministry of Education’s Department of Special Education, marks a pioneering step towards redefining back-to-school readiness — from simply providing learning materials to ensuring students’ physical and emotional well-being.
The program underscores e& Egypt’s commitment to empowering students of determination and ensuring equitable access to education by integrating health and wellness into the learning experience. This approach aligns with the company’s broader strategy of supporting inclusive development and sustainable impact in Egyptian communities.
This year, the initiative targets all special education schools across Assiut Governorate and selected schools in Cairo as the first phase of a nationwide rollout to reach special education institutions across Egypt.
The “Healthy Schools” initiative offers a comprehensive suite of sustainable activities and services that extend throughout the academic year, not only at its start. These include upgrading school clinics and equipping them with essential medical supplies to ensure access to primary healthcare within schools, in addition to training teachers on first aid to enable rapid response to emergencies.
Furthermore, the initiative provides medical checkups for early detection of infectious diseases and offers free eyeglasses to students facing vision challenges that may hinder learning. It also promotes health awareness through child-friendly educational materials and distributes complete school kits and learning supplies to ease financial burdens on families and help students begin the school year with confidence.
