Egypt Post Secures Key Leadership Roles at Universal Postal Union

Egypt Post has won membership in both the Postal Operations Council and the Postal Investment Council of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), alongside securing the position of Co-Chair of the Supply Chain Committee within the Postal Investment Council. The achievement was announced during the 28th Universal Postal Congress, hosted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from September 8–19, under the theme “Leading Change, Shaping the Future” with the participation of representatives from 144 countries.

The victory highlights Egypt Post’s growing regional and international role, built over years of active engagement in UPU meetings and initiatives. Backed by strong support from member states, Egypt Post garnered some of the highest voting shares in the elections.

Dalia El Baz, Chairperson of Egypt Post, said the win is a global recognition of the organization’s efficiency and progress. “This achievement reflects Egypt Post’s continued success in modernizing its infrastructure and digitizing all postal services. It also places greater responsibility on us to further develop our system, strengthen our role as a driver of economic development, and support the growth of e-commerce, while remaining a trusted channel for postal and financial services across the country,” she noted.

Nermin Hassan, Head of International Cooperation at Egypt Post, emphasized that the win underscores international confidence in Egypt’s leadership and expertise. She added that membership in the two UPU councils grants Egypt a stronger voice in shaping global postal supply chain policies, developing international standards, integrating logistics networks, and supporting cross-border e-commerce.
