Huawei Africa Night 2025 Celebrates “African Intelligence Pioneers” Under the Theme All Intelligence for New Africa

Huawei hosted its annual Huawei Africa Night 2025 alongside HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, bringing together more than 500 partners, government officials, industry leaders, and experts under the theme “All Intelligence for New Africa.” The event highlighted how information and communications technology (ICT) innovation is driving the continent’s intelligent transformation.
Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa (North, West, and Central Africa), delivered the opening address, emphasizing Africa’s pivotal moment of transition from informatization to a fully digital and intelligent era. He pointed to leapfrog progress across sectors — from no connectivity to 4G, 5G, and FTTH; from paper-based governance to intelligent digital services; from cash-based economies to mobile payments; and from unreliable electricity to efficient solar power solutions.
Reaffirming Huawei’s long-term commitment “In Africa, for Africa,” Shen Li introduced the company’s three-pillar framework for Africa’s digital future:
New Value: Inclusive solutions across key areas such as connectivity, education, government services, security, and energy.
New Infrastructure: Integrating cloud, AI, core networks, and devices into end-to-end offerings.
New Ecosystem: Building an open, collaborative community of customers, partners, and talent to accelerate intelligent transformation.
During keynote sessions, the Huawei Northern Africa team elaborated on how these pillars will support Africa’s transition to a smarter, more connected digital economy, while engaging participants in discussions on trends, innovations, and best practices across the region.
A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the “African Intelligence Pioneers” program — recognizing 14 visionary organizations across nine sectors, including public administration, telecommunications, education, healthcare, oil & gas, mining, transport, energy, and finance. By adopting AI, cloud, and other advanced technologies, these organizations are leading the way in creating innovative business models and tailored solutions that advance Africa’s digital future.
