Waffarha Strengthens Position as Egypt’s Leading Digital Lifestyle Platform with 7 Million Users and EGP 1.6 Billion in GMV

Waffarha, Egypt’s first lifestyle application, has announced record-breaking performance for 2025, cementing its position as a leading digital platform in Egypt and the wider region. The company revealed that its user base has surpassed 7 million, while gross merchandise value (GMV) since the beginning of the year has exceeded EGP 1.6 billion.

This milestone reflects Waffarha’s commitment to delivering innovative smart-spending solutions and its success in expanding regionally, most notably with its entry into Saudi Arabia.

Waffarha’s growth was evident across multiple indicators in 2025. GMV increased by 61.8% compared to 2024, with transactions rising by 64.9% to more than 5.3 million. Active customers grew by 59% year-on-year. Sector-specific growth was also notable: transactions in food and beverage surged by 93.7%, while entertainment grew by 34%. Bill payment services saw a 50% rise in transactions, and digital gaming vouchers are growing at an average monthly rate of 40%. The app has now been downloaded over 10 million times, underscoring the rising trust and engagement of its users.

Commenting on the achievement, Tarek Magdy, CEO of Waffarha, said:

“Waffarha’s success story is rooted in the belief that smart spending should be accessible to everyone. Today’s numbers are not just statistics, but proof that we are meeting a real need for millions of Egyptians. Our expansion into Saudi Arabia, along with upcoming launches in Oman and five additional countries, highlight our ambition to become the region’s leading lifestyle platform—one that empowers users to live smarter and better.”

As part of its international growth strategy, Waffarha successfully launched operations in Saudi Arabia in October 2024, attracting over 500,000 customers and completing more than 300,000 transactions in a short period. The company is preparing to launch services in Oman by the end of 2025, with plans to expand into five additional countries by 2026.
