Egypt’s Mobile Manufacturing Industry Expands to 14 Factories with 9 Million Units Planned for 2025

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, announced that the country now hosts 14 mobile phone manufacturing plants, with production commitments set to reach 9 million units in 2025, up from 3.5 million units produced last year.
Talaat confirmed that exports are expected to begin at the end of this year and early next year, highlighting Egypt’s strategy to expand production capacity, deepen local value addition, and leverage free trade agreements to strengthen the country’s competitive position in global markets.
The announcement came during the annual celebration of the Etisalat Association, held at Prince Mohamed Ali Palace. The event was attended by former ICT ministers Mohamed Salem, Hany Mahmoud, Atef Helmy, and Khaled Negm; former Administrative Development Minister Ahmed Darwish; ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher; NTRA Vice President for Technical Affairs and Quality Hossam Abdelmoula; Etisalat Association Chairman Hossam Maguid; Executive Director Mohamed Shadid; as well as civil society leaders and ICT sector representatives.
