Orange Egypt Launches First-of-its-Kind Mobile Electricity Card Top-Up Service via My Orange App

Orange Egypt has announced the launch of an exclusive new service that allows customers to recharge prepaid electricity cards instantly using only their mobile phones. For the first time in Egypt, this can be done seamlessly through the My Orange app, powered by Orange Cash and NFC technology.

This breakthrough marks a significant step forward in digital payments, reinforcing Orange Egypt’s commitment to expanding digital services and supporting the country’s financial inclusion and digital transformation initiatives.

The service has been designed to be simple, fast, and secure. Customers can open the My Orange app, select “Electricity Card Top-Up,” choose their electricity provider, and place the card on the back of their NFC-enabled mobile phone to read the data. After selecting the recharge amount and confirming payment via Orange Cash, users only need to place the card back on the phone to load the new balance. To ensure success, the card should remain in contact with the phone until a notification sound or message confirms the process.
