U.S. Dollar Holds Steady Against Egyptian Pound at ATMs on August 22, 2025

The U.S. dollar remained stable against the Egyptian pound on Friday in local banks’ ATMs, maintaining its recent levels set by the Central Bank of Egypt. The dollar stood at EGP 48.54 for purchase and EGP 48.67 for sale, reflecting no major fluctuations in domestic exchange markets.

Globally, however, the greenback saw slight pressure following the return of the U.S. president, with the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) — which measures the currency against a basket of major peers — slipping 0.13% to around 98.20 points.

Commercial International Bank (CIB): EGP 48.58 (buy), EGP 48.68 (sell)

Al Ahli United Bank: EGP 48.70 (buy), EGP 48.80 (sell)

Banque du Caire: EGP 48.40 (buy), EGP 48.50 (sell)

Suez Canal Bank: EGP 48.70 (buy), EGP 48.80 (sell)

The currency market in Egypt continues to track both local monetary policy and global movements in the dollar, with traders keeping a close eye on upcoming economic data that could influence exchange trends.
