Gold prices in Egypt recorded a notable decline on Tuesday, reflecting downward movement across all major carats in the local market.

According to traders, the price of 14-karat gold fell to EGP 3,013 per gram, while 18-karat gold dropped to EGP 3,874 per gram. The most commonly traded 21-karat gold also slipped, reaching EGP 4,520 per gram.

Meanwhile, 24-karat gold, the highest in purity, retreated to EGP 5,165 per gram.

The price of the gold pound (guinea) declined to around EGP 36,160, though dealers cautioned that rates may vary slightly from one retailer to another. This figure represents the intrinsic value of the gold contained within the coin, excluding workmanship or additional fees.

Market analysts noted that fluctuations in global bullion prices and local currency movements continue to play a key role in shaping gold rates in Egypt, as investors closely monitor international economic conditions and demand for safe-haven assets.
