Egyptian industrial solutions company Simplex is accelerating its regional expansion following a successful funding round that secured $13 million to establish a new manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, in a move that signals growing investor confidence in Egypt’s industrial innovation ecosystem.

Founded in 2013 by a group of young Egyptian engineers—Ahmed Shaaban, Mohamed Mansour, and Amr Mahmoud—Simplex has rapidly emerged as a leading manufacturer of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery, serving more than 50 sectors in 17 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

Driving Local Innovation with Global Reach

Simplex specializes in the design and production of a wide range of CNC machines, including routers, plasma cutters, laser machines, fiber lasers, marble routers, milling machines, and press brakes. These machines are widely used across industries such as metalworking, woodworking, automotive, and signage.

Thanks to their reliability, efficiency, and versatility, Simplex’s machines have become the preferred choice for companies, factories, and workshops seeking high-performance solutions with customized configurations.

In addition to manufacturing, the company imports complementary machinery including tile cutters, shearing machines, gasket injection systems, marking units, and welding equipment, reinforcing its position as a comprehensive provider of industrial and technological solutions.

Mission and Market Impact

At its core, Simplex was built with a mission to empower Egyptian industry through innovation, locally manufactured machinery, and a commitment to technological advancement. The founders envisioned tapping into the momentum of Egypt’s economic recovery, offering tools that enable local manufacturers to compete on a global scale.

“Simplex is not just a machinery manufacturer—we are enablers of industrial excellence,” said Eng. Ahmed Shaaban, Chairman of the Board, who holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Minia University and brings over a decade of experience to the company’s leadership.

Strategic Partnerships and Future Vision

Among its notable partnerships, Simplex collaborates with the El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, contributing to the revival and modernization of Egypt’s automotive production landscape.

The company’s long-term vision is centered on becoming a hub for industrial innovation in the region—offering high-precision, locally engineered solutions that rival international standards.

With its upcoming Saudi facility, Simplex aims to strengthen its presence in Gulf markets while enhancing cross-border technology transfer and manufacturing integration in the region.
