ITI, Armed Forces Collaborate to Qualify Conscripts for Future IT Jobs

The Information Technology Institute (ITI), in collaboration with the Egyptian Armed Forces, is offering training scholarships for conscripts during their military service period, including an intensive training program (Mil-Tech 1) and a professional training program (Mil-Tech 2). The aim is to empower Egypt’s tech workforce, contributing to advancing digital transformation efforts and building a sustainable digital economy.
Spanning four to five months, the intensive training program is counted as part of the conscript’s remaining military service period. Its implementation begins in May, with training scheduled from July to November. Training will be delivered at the Armed Forces Information Systems Institute under ITI’s full supervision.
Mil-Tech 1 covers specialized technology tracks: full-stack web development using Python, software testing, full-stack web development using MERN, incident handling and digital forensics, system administration, offensive security and penetration testing, 2D graphic design and visual communication, online digital learning design, and geospatial information systems (GIS).
The Armed Forces will nominate conscripts who are graduates of engineering, computer science, and information technology faculties, for this program. Selected conscripts will undergo admission tests, including an IQ test, an English language proficiency exam, and technical and personal interviews.
Meanwhile, the professional training program targets 2025 graduates from Egyptian universities across all disciplines, based on the requirements of the chosen tech track. The nine-month program does not require prior knowledge or specified military service status at the time of application. It is open to those who have not yet begun their conscription. Applications are submitted through ITI’s official website once registration opens in July.
Upon completion, trainees in the two programs will receive certificates from ITI, qualifying them to apply for promising job opportunities across various fields, either within Egypt or abroad.
This initiative builds on a cooperation protocol signed by ITI and the Armed Forces Information Systems Department last April to equip conscripts for the job market through specialized IT companies. It comes in line with the directives of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces on enhancing the digital capabilities of youth and nurturing specialized and innovative talents capable of driving comprehensive digital transformation.
Notably, a previous collaboration between the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) resulted in qualifying over 2,000 trainees across various specializations. A significant number of them obtained internationally recognized certifications, which enabled them to secure decent employment opportunities across different IT industries.
