A Regulatory Leap Boosting Ziina’s Leadership in Fintech

Emirates-based fintech company Ziina has secured a Category 3 Retail Payment Services license alongside a Category 4 Foreign Exchange authorization from the Central Bank of the UAE. This achievement makes Ziina the first local fintech company to combine regulatory authorizations for retail payments, stored value facilities, and money exchange operations within a single unified digital platform serving individuals and businesses.

Integrated Services and Advanced Payment Solutions for Merchants and Consumers

The newly granted license enables the company to offer a comprehensive range of services, including local payment acceptance, payment aggregation, and innovative merchant solutions such as QR code payments, payment links, and Tap to Pay mobile technology. Furthermore, the foreign exchange authorization powers international money transfers directly through the Ziina app.

Rapid Growth and Broad Regional Ambitions

Ziina currently serves over 500,000 customers annually, processing an annualized payment volume exceeding $1.5 billion. Additionally, 1 in every 10 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UAE utilizes its services. The company plans to leverage these licenses to scale operations from the UAE market into broader opportunities across the Arab world
