BAIC Launches Presales for Its New ”Xingtan 5X” SUV Featuring Huawei Autonomous Driving System
The market is gearing up for a boost in the sport-utility vehicle sector as BAIC Beijing Off-Road officially announced the start of presales for its new boxy-designed BAIC Xingtan 5X, which aims to combine everyday family utility with superior off-road capabilities.
Trims and Prices in the Chinese Market
The vehicle is available across 7 trims with presale prices ranging from 139,900 to 184,900 Chinese Yuan. The lineup is split into three pure electric trims and four plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) trims, offering both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options in the hybrid versions to meet the diverse needs of buyers searching for new BAIC cars and SUVs.
Smart Technologies and Cabin Specifications
The Xingtan 5X features a blend of cutting-edge connectivity and comfort technologies, relying on the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro advanced driving assistance system powered by 27 sophisticated sensors. Inside, the cabin comes equipped with two large 15.6-inch displays, an immersive 23-speaker audio system, and comprehensive comfort features including heated, ventilated, and massaging seats to support smart car technologies.
Performance and Mechanical Capabilities
The electric version delivers strong performance with a 227 kW motor, while the all-wheel-drive hybrid version relies on dual electric motors with a combined nominal output of 400 kW (equivalent to around 536 horsepower) excluding the gasoline engine, enhancing the efficiency of hybrid and electric cars.

The vehicle is designed for adventure enthusiasts, offering a ground clearance of 228 mm, a declared wading depth of 600 mm, and support for 14 custom terrain driving modes in the 4WD variants. This makes it an ideal choice within the off-road and 4WD vehicles category.
