Gold prices in Egypt recorded a relative decline in early trading on Sunday, September 6, 2026, compared to closing levels at the end of last week.

Globally, gold posted slight weekly losses under pressure from U.S. jobs data, which reinforced market expectations that the Federal Reserve could hike interest rates in September, curbing the appeal of the non-yielding precious metal.

21-Karat Gold: The most popular choice among Egyptian consumers reached EGP 6,335 for sale and EGP 6,285 for purchase per gram at the time of reporting.

18-Karat Gold: Recorded EGP 5,430 for sale and EGP 5,387.2 for purchase per gram.
