Food Export Council: Frozen Strawberries, Beverage Concentrates, and Edible Oils Lead Egypt’s Food Exports during the First Seven Months of 2026

The Food Export Council (FEC) confirmed that 15 food commodities collectively accounted for approximately 72% of Egypt’s total processed food exports during the period from January to July 2026, with a value of approximately USD 3,207 million, out of total food industry exports of USD 4,473 million. This reflects the continued strength and competitiveness of several Egyptian food products in international markets.
The Council stated that frozen strawberries ranked first among Egypt’s leading processed food exports during January–July 2026, with exports valued at USD 558 million, reflecting continued strong international demand and the product’s position as one of the key drivers of growth in Egypt’s food exports.
Beverage concentrates for carbonated drinks ranked second, with exports reaching USD 368 million, followed by edible oils at USD 298 million, and chocolate at USD 262 million. These value-added products continue to strengthen their presence within Egypt’s food export structure.
Exports of animal feed preparations reached approximately USD 219 million, while cereal preparations and biscuits recorded USD 187 million, followed by sugar at approximately USD 176 million and juices at USD 174 million during the same period.
The Council also reported that frozen potato exports reached USD 156 million, followed by flour and milling products at USD 149 million, frozen vegetables at USD 147 million, and pickles and processed olives at USD 142 million.
The list of major commodities also included miscellaneous food preparations, valued at USD 132 million, vegetable preparations at USD 126 million, and fats and oils, which recorded exports of approximately USD 114 million.
The Food Export Council confirmed that Egypt’s total processed food exports increased to approximately USD 4,473 million during January–July 2026, compared with USD 4,040 million during the same period in 2025, representing a growth rate of approximately 10.7%.
This growth reflects the continued positive performance of Egypt’s processed food sector, supported by increased exports of several key products and the growing presence of Egyptian value-added food products in international markets.
