Telecom Egypt Brings Fiber-Powered Triple Play Services to City Edge’s New Alamein Developments
Telecom Egypt is extending its digital infrastructure footprint into some of New Alamein’s flagship residential developments through a strategic partnership with City Edge Developments, bringing fiber-based connectivity, IPTV and fixed-line services directly into homes across three major projects.
The agreement will see Telecom Egypt’s WE provide integrated Triple Play services at The Gate Towers, North Edge Towers and Mazarine Compound, as City Edge moves to make digital infrastructure a core component of the residential experience across its New Alamein portfolio.
The partnership was signed by Tamer El Mahdi, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, and Tamer Nasser, CEO of City Edge Developments.
Under the agreement, WE will deploy high-speed internet services over fiber-optic infrastructure alongside IPTV and fixed-line telephony, giving residents access to all three services through an integrated telecommunications network.
For Telecom Egypt, the deal extends a strategy that increasingly places fiber connectivity inside new residential communities from the development stage rather than treating telecom services as infrastructure added after construction.
New Alamein homes get built-in digital infrastructure
The three developments covered by the agreement represent different parts of City Edge’s footprint in New Alamein.
By integrating WE’s infrastructure into The Gate Towers, North Edge Towers and Mazarine, the developer is looking to provide connectivity capable of supporting both permanent residents and customers using their properties seasonally.
That distinction is particularly relevant in New Alamein, where residential, tourism and second-home demand coexist within the same urban market.
High-speed home internet has also become more important as households rely on connectivity for entertainment, remote work, education, smart-home applications and an expanding range of digital services.
The partnership therefore positions telecom infrastructure alongside utilities and other essential services within the developments rather than as a standalone consumer subscription.
Tamer El Mahdi said the partnership reflects Telecom Egypt’s efforts to support smart-city development by providing advanced digital infrastructure and integrated telecommunications services across new urban communities.
“We are pleased to partner with City Edge Developments to provide integrated Triple Play services at The Gate Towers, North Edge Towers and Mazarine Compound in New Alamein,” El Mahdi said.
He added that the agreement supports Telecom Egypt’s expansion of integrated digital services across Egypt’s new residential and tourism developments while helping improve connectivity and quality of life for residents.
City Edge puts connectivity into the residential proposition
For City Edge, the agreement forms part of a broader approach to building services around its real estate projects rather than focusing solely on construction and design.
The developer is increasingly treating digital connectivity as part of the package residents expect when moving into a modern residential community.
Tamer Nasser said developing urban communities is no longer limited to architectural design or construction quality, but increasingly requires an integrated ecosystem of services capable of responding to customers’ changing needs.
“Our partnership with WE is an important step in this direction, providing advanced Triple Play services across some of our flagship projects in New Alamein,” Nasser said.
He added that the services would strengthen the customer experience while keeping pace with the rapid development of digital services.
The agreement also fits into City Edge’s strategy of working with specialist companies across different sectors to bring technical expertise and additional services into its developments.
Fiber becomes part of Egypt’s new-city race
The City Edge agreement comes as Telecom Egypt increasingly uses partnerships with property developers to extend fiber infrastructure directly into residential compounds and new urban developments.
That model gives operators an opportunity to design networks around communities before occupancy reaches scale, while developers can market reliable high-speed connectivity as part of the infrastructure available to residents.
Triple Play takes that approach a step further by combining broadband, television and fixed voice services over the same digital infrastructure.
For The Gate Towers, North Edge Towers and Mazarine, the partnership means connectivity will form part of the wider service environment being built around the projects as New Alamein evolves from a predominantly seasonal destination into a more integrated year-round city.
For Telecom Egypt, meanwhile, every new development connected through fiber represents more than another broadband footprint.
It creates the infrastructure layer on which future residential digital services — from entertainment and remote working to increasingly connected homes — can be built.
