UAE Launches ”Jaywan”, the Country’s First National Payment System
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), has officially launched "Jaywan", the UAE's inaugural national payment system. During the launch, His Highness announced the official rollout of the Jaywan card across licensed banks, financial institutions, and exchange houses, confirming its readiness for immediate customer use.
The announcement was made during a reception attended by H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE, board members of Al Etihad Payments, and various chief executives from local and global financial institutions. The gathering underscored the robust partnership between the Central Bank and the broader financial sector in backing the new national payment infrastructure.

Sheikh Mansour emphasized that the inauguration of the Jaywan payment system and the commencement of its national issuance represents a strategic milestone.
