IGC Expands Operations in Egypt with Strategic 500 KV Power Transmission Project with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy
Intelligent Globe Construction (IGC), a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, has signed a new partnership agreement with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, represented by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), to implement a new 500 kV overhead transmission line project.
The project includes engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of Lot 2 of the 500 kV overhead transmission line extending from the Orascom Substation to El Hawamdeya Substation. Spanning approximately 61.6 kilometers and featuring four conductors per phase, the turnkey transmission line is designed to transmitting electricity generated from wind energy projects in the Gulf of Suez.
The project will be delivered by a consortium led by Intelligent Globe Construction (IGC) Egypt, in partnership with Intelligent Globe Construction (IGC) UAE, reflecting the combined technical expertise and capabilities of both entities in delivering large-scale strategic infrastructure projects.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Mona Rizk, Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company representing Ministry of Electricity & Renewable Energy, and Eng. Mostafa Nabil El Geziry, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Intelligent Group, on behalf of Eng. Mohamed Amara, Chairman of Intelligent Group, And in the presence of Eng. Ali Mousa, Chief Commercial Officer at Intelligent Group.
The project aligns with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy's strategy to strengthen Egypt's electricity transmission network and enhance its capacity to accommodate additional power generation. It also supports the country's plans to expand renewable energy projects while improving the efficiency, in line with the direction and continuous oversight of H.E. Dr. Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
The announcement coincides with the inauguration of IGC’s regional office in Cairo, marking another milestone in the company's expansion strategy. The new office will serve as the operational headquarters for Egypt and North Africa, reflecting the IGC Group's long-term commitment to increasing its investments, expanding its regional footprint, and supporting infrastructure and energy projects across the region.
