DEPI Named Best Initiative Supporting Youth Employment, Digital Skills at WorkShift Summit 2026
The Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative (DEPI) has won the award for Best Initiative Supporting Youth Empowerment and Digital Skills at WorkShift Summit 2026, in recognition of its pioneering role in preparing young people for the labor market.
The award reflects the tangible impact DEPI has made through an integrated educational and training model that combines academic knowledge, hands-on application, and cutting-edge digital and technological skills, helping build a talent pool capable of leading the future of the digital economy and freelance work.
The recognition underscores the importance of investing in young people and serves as further motivation to keep building a generation equipped to drive innovation and compete both locally and globally.
Held on June 28 in Cairo, WorkShift Summit is Egypt's first executive-level event dedicated to freelancing and modern work models. It aims to bridge training with real job opportunities while supporting the country's broader digital transformation. The summit is built around four strategic pillars: positioning Egypt as a regional hub for agile and remote workforce models; connecting enterprises directly with scalable, flexible talent solutions; driving dialogue on independent workforce integration and labor regulation; and enabling project-based opportunities that support persons with disabilities (PwDs) and broader inclusion goals.
DEPI is a fully funded scholarship program offered by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to help students and graduates thrive in a rapidly evolving labor market. Delivered in collaboration with leading local and global companies, DEPI offers comprehensive training programs and specialized workshops designed to close the skills gap in emerging technologies and AI applications across professional fields.
